A self storage unit from Door To Store is delivered to your location, assembled on site by our team and left ready to load. There is no van to hire, no traffic to sit in and no loading and unloading at both ends. You pack at your own pace and open the door whenever you need something.
The units are built from high-quality steel and engineered to stand up to all weather, with a strong locking system on the door: two built-in deadlocks, and you keep the keys. Whether you are organising, renovating, moving home, managing an insurance claim or simply need extra space, the unit stays where it is useful.
Built and assembled by hand
Every unit arrives in sections on our van and is bolted together from the inside on a firm, reasonably level surface. That means no cranes, no HGVs and no HIABs, and it means the unit can go where a shipping container cannot: through a side gate, into a rear garden or onto a tight yard, as long as there is 2,150 mm of height clearance on the route in.
Our team manages the delivery and assembly from start to finish. When you have finished, we come back, dismantle the unit and take it away, leaving nothing behind.
Short term or long term, on a weekly rate
Hire is charged weekly and billed every four weeks, with a minimum of four weeks and no fixed end date. Delivery, assembly and collection are itemised on the quote so you can see the whole cost before you book. Pay six months up front and installation and de-installation are half price; pay twelve months up front and both are free.

What is Door To Store, and how does it work?
Door To Store is a self storage service that brings the storage unit to you. Choose the size you need and we deliver it to your location and assemble it on site. When you have finished, we dismantle it and take it away.
How safe are the self storage units?
Very. The units are built from high-quality steel, bolted together from the inside, and designed to stand up to all weather. The door has two built-in deadlocks and you keep the keys.
Can I trust the unit with valuable items?
Yes. Security is the first thing the unit is designed for. Bear in mind that contents insurance is not included, so you should insure anything valuable you store.
Is there a minimum or maximum rental period?
The minimum hire is four weeks. There is no maximum: hire runs week by week for as long as you need, whether that is a short project or long-term storage.
What sizes are available, and how do I choose the right one?
Eight sizes from 2 × 2 m to 4 × 6 m. Our team can help you pick a size based on what you plan to store, or use the storage calculator to add up your items and see which unit fits.
How do you make sure the unit is assembled correctly?
Our own experienced team builds every unit on site, bolting it together from the inside on a firm, reasonably level surface. It is the same two-person crew and the same method every time.
How big are the units and what do they weigh?
Sizes start at 2 × 2 m (40 sq ft). A fully built unit weighs approximately 250 kg per 2 m of length.
Is the unit weatherproof?
Yes. The unit is designed to keep out rain, snow and other harsh weather so your items stay dry. If you are storing fabrics such as sofas or mattresses, we recommend Absorpoles inside the unit to absorb excess moisture from the air. They are optional and cost £25 each.
Can I access my items at any time?
Yes. The unit is on your property and you have the keys, so you can get to your belongings whenever you need them.
What happens if I run out of space?
The units are modular. If yours fills up faster than expected, we can add an extension to it or supply a second unit.
What areas do you cover?
We are based in Luton, Bedfordshire, and serve customers across the UK. Installation and collection within 30 miles of Luton are included; beyond that we add £2 + VAT per mile. Can I cancel my unit delivery?
Yes. Call or email us at least 7 working days before the scheduled start date to avoid a charge. Cancellations within 7 working days of the start date are charged at the installation fee. Our terms and conditions set out the cancellation rules in full, including the consumer right to cancel.
What if I need to move the unit to a different location?
Contact us and we will work out the arrangements with you. The unit will need to be emptied first.
Are there any items I cannot store in the unit?
Yes. Combustible, flammable, hazardous or toxic materials such as petrol, compressed gas, propane tanks and chemicals must not be stored. Perishable food, live plants, radioactive materials, stolen items and illegal goods are also prohibited. If you are unsure about something, ask us before you load it.
